Dr. Abbas Naqvi specializes in Joint Replacement and Orthopedic Surgery at Town Center Orthopaedics in Ashburn, Centreville, and Fairfax. Dr. Naqvi trained at the Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute under world-class joint replacement surgeons with a focus on robotic hip and knee replacement as well as the minimally invasive direct anterior approach for hip replacement. He specializes in joint preservation surgery of the hip and knee.

Dr. Naqvi was born and raised in the DMV area. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he studied nutritional science. He attended medical school at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He then went on to complete his residency at Howard University Hospital where he gained an in-depth understanding of the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of musculoskeletal pathology as well as gaining a strong appreciation for caring for the medically underserved. After his residency, he pursued advanced training in adult reconstruction and joint replacement surgery at the Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he became a joint replacement specialist.

As an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Naqvi strongly believes in performing surgery while minimizing the trauma of the surgical approach itself. As such, he has a strong focus on minimally invasive and muscle-sparing techniques. He has extensive training in the muscle-sparing direct anterior approach for hip replacement surgery to minimize injury to the muscles surrounding the hip joint. He utilizes these advanced techniques with the goal of providing his patients with a quicker recovery and faster return to an active lifestyle. He has extensive training in treating all forms of joint arthritis and avascular necrosis. He also performs surgery on a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, including traumatic injuries such as fractures.

Dr. Naqvi has a special interest in the direct anterior hip approach as well as utilizing technology to perform robotic knee and hip replacement surgery. He utilizes all these techniques to help provide his patients with the best outcomes and facilitate their recovery.

Musculoskeletal problems, such as arthritis, frequently leave patients with debilitating pain that significantly affects their quality of life.
