Children & Families
As a mother, Attorney Bitar is committed to advocating for our children. Before establishing her law firm, Attorney Bitar worked as a Child Protection Attorney at a Family Law firm, in New Milford, CT., handling cases related to child’s safety, education, and wellbeing. She represented numerous clients in the juvenile justice system. She also worked on Divorce and Child Custody matters.
Civil Rights
As a member of a marginalized group, Attorney Bitar knows how it feels to be discriminated against, she knows how invisible barriers, such as racism and bigotry, can severely affect a person’s present and future. Her passion for inclusion, tolerance, and freedom granted her a legal internship at the Religious Freedom Institute, Washington, D.C. where she conducted legal research on the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and other related laws.
Transactional Practice
Coming from Damascus, the oldest cultural, commercial, and trading center in the world, Attorney Bitar’s expertise in transactional practice is in her DNA inherited from her ancestors. She also worked as a student attorney at The Connecticut Urban Legal Initiative (CULI) Clinic, where she was able to provide pro bono assistance on different transactional, financial, and legal matters for small non-profit businesses.
Immigration Law
As a Syrian immigrant, Attorney Bitar has first-hand experience in Immigration and Nationality law. She also handled a variety of immigration and asylum cases as an Associate Attorney at an Immigration Law firm, Stamford, CT., Legal Representative at the Asylum and Human Rights Clinic, Hartford, CT., Legal Intern at the Center for Children Advocacy, and Student Attorney for the International Refugee Assistant Project (IRAP).
