Kanwal S. Awan

I am an attorney at Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC, based in Newark, New Jersey. I represent owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in a variety of business disputes, with a focus on general liability and construction-specific litigation. My responsibilities include researching complex legal issues, drafting memoranda, and analyzing risks and potential outcomes. I also prepare pleadings, motions, legal briefs, and supporting documents for court submissions, such as summary judgment motions and motions to dismiss.

In April 2024, I was recognized on the New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for my work in personal injury defense. Fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi, I am able to effectively serve a diverse clientele. I am also committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and in October 2023, I had the opportunity to moderate a panel on unconscious bias in the workplace for Professional Women in Construction New Jersey.

Prior to joining Cohen Seglias, I clerked for several judges in the Superior Court of New Jersey (Law Division), including the Hon. Yolanda Ciccone, the Hon. Thomas C. Miller, and the Hon. Michael F. O’Neill.
